es una teoría crítica de la educación que nace de la necesidad de comprender mejor cómo la educación, disfrazada de políticas educativa, la pedagogía, el desarrollo curricular y la evaluación oprimen, marginan y acallan a los estudiantes, especialmente aquellos y aquellas que proceden de la clase obrera. Se preocupa particularmente por los asuntos de (falsa) conciencia y de hegemonía capitalista. Adherida a la dialéctica, trata también de comprender cómo los alumnos y alumnas, así como los educadores y educadoras, resisten la dominación que se esconde en el currículo, en la evaluación, en las prácticas normativas de transición de conocimiento y en los estándares de comportamiento.
